Micah Legal Aid
Micah Legal Aid (MLA) provides free legal advice and referrals to clients seeking assistance. We provide legal advice on site, and, if further legal assistance is necessary, we refer clients to agencies who may be able to represent clients at little or no cost. MLA also screens eligible clients for representation by the Legal Assistance Foundation’s Northwest Office.
MLA serves clients who are lower-income individuals in the Logan Square and surrounding areas of Chicago. Spanish interpreters are available on site.
MLA serves clients with needs in the area of family law, domestic violence, housing, personal bankruptcy, employment, unemployment, public benefits, auto repossessions, school expulsions and truancy, and other related areas. Please note that MLA does not handle criminal matters.
MLA is a partnership between New Community Covenant Church (NCCC), and the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago (LAFMC). We are an organization of dedicated volunteer attorneys and legal professionals.

- Bridging cultural, linguistic, socioeconomic, and religious gaps by bringing legal services to underrepresented communities.
- Providing legal services to individuals regardless of their belief system.

We serve the poor and working poor residents* of Logan Square and surrounding neighborhoods.
*Though we may ask about your immigration status for our own information purposes, we are not a reporting agency. This means we will not report immigration status, legal or otherwise, to the police or immigration authorities.

Hours and Days of Operation:
The Micah Legal Aid is located at the church office, 2804 W. Belmont, 2nd floor. Please walk up the stairs, and turn to your left, into our office.
MLA operates on the first Tuesday of every month, from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm and the third Saturday of every month, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.
We accept walk-ins, but for quicker service, please call ahead to make an appointment during our office hours. Please leave a message with your name, number, and legal problem. We will return your call as soon as possible.
Please remember to bring all relevant legal and other paperwork with you.
