Mission of the Ministry

The NC3 Education Cause Ministry is an effort to live out gospel-neighboring lives with our teachers, community leaders, schools, children/youth, and parents through presence, prayer support and critical engagement.

CHRIST – At the center of this ministry is the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as Jesus left Heaven and “moved into our neighborhood,” we must demonstrate radical love toward our neighbors.

COMMUNITY – As we mature as a “church without walls,” we are learning what it means to be gospel neighbors bringing wholeness to all of society, not just personal piety.

CAUSE – Education Cause Ministry is about investing in the lives of people that we live with every day – teachers, leaders, parents, children and youth – that God cares about.

“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare.” Jeremiah 29:7

How can I get involved?

1. Quarterly Gatherings – If you are a teacher or community leader, we want to be a blessing to you! We know that it can be hard to find time away from your job, so we want to provide a quarterly gathering intended for you to reflect spiritually and refresh your spirit through fellowship, prayer and food. Please contact the ministry leader to learn more and share how we can pray for you regularly.

2. Hospitality & Service – If you have gifts in prayer, hospitality or in behind-the-scenes organizing work, consider joining as we encourage our teachers and leaders. praying for our teachers and leaders taking time to encourage teachers through a small gift (i.e., cards, baked goods, supplies, etc.) plan or host a gathering for teachers to show our appreciation

3. Critical Engagement – If you are not an educator, but want to learn more about what is happening in public education in Chicago, we welcome you to come join us as we learn how we can love our neighbors. film and discussion events Attending community/school events through LSNA or CPS Host, Plan or Participate in quarterly service projects
