Autumn Members Meeting

Dear Church Members,

It is hard to believe that 2010 is more than half over, we are so grateful for God’s goodness to our church. We have seen Him provide for us financially, move us in ministry, and draw many of us closer in our walk with Him. Thanks go out to all of you who continually pray and serve in the ministry of our church!

As you know, New Community is a congregational church. This means that you, as a member, have the responsibility of making important decisions that affect the entire body. A few times a year we assemble to conduct needed business of the church and to receive important updates from our Pastors and Leadership Team. We are having an Autumn member meeting on Sunday, September 19th, 2010, after service (promptly at 1:45 p.m.) in our Bronzeville location (Drake Elementary School – 2722 S. King Drive).

At the meeting, we have one member suggested by the Nominating Committee that needs to be approved for the Leadership Team: Laura Hepker. In addition, Sonia Wang has been identified as someone to serve on the Nominating Committee for Leadership Team members. Finally, the following individuals have completed the required membership class, financial & evangelism workshops and have been interviewed by an appointed committee, and are seeking membership with New Community Covenant Church. Furthermore, the Leadership Team is recommending that they be received into the membership of our church.

Please pray about these appointments. After, if you have any concerns about any of the individuals above (as outlined in our Bylaws) please submit your concerns in writing to the Leadership Team within the 10 days of receiving this letter. If no objections are made we will move forward with the application process and welcome these applicants into the membership of our church at our members meeting. The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

  • Prayer
  • Building Update
  • Financial Update
  • Volunteer Update
  • Introduction of New Staff
  • Vote in new Leadership Team member, Nominating Committee member, and Church members
